The shop is a collection of unique handmade pieces of design for the house, made by artisans from India and Italy. Starting with ceramics and handmade pottery, each piece has been selected by me after a deep research into the artisan’s life and work.
The project is my own attempt to promote a better way of shopping, building a sustainable business to help artisans and creative people to sustain themselves and their art without compromising their way of working. The aim is to repost the focus of design on individual, socio cultural and environmental well being.
Time is the key of the project: taking time to do things well, do them responsibly, in a pleasurable way; taking time to shop better, getting to know the story behind the product.
The first collection showcases the work of the designer and artisan Varsha Chella, based in Chennai, who has been practicing pottery and ceramics for the last 5 years.
